So, you want mushroom?

Looks like Kirk has lost the posting bug, so i will get in here real quick while I have a chance. Ultimate ninja net move, successful win. pwned.

Not much really to say, just a brief update.

We are hopefully going to be protesting to the programming committee in the next week or so at their monthly meeting. We will be arguing our case about why we should retain our timeslot, or at least be given another one. Hopefully this all goes well.

I would also like to bring to your attention the following things, that are close to release:

Mr Trials 12"
Bit of bad luck with the pressing of this one, so its been a bit delayed. A couple of em made it out and about, for the rest of us - it should hopefully be around soon. The 12 is hot as fuck, I have heard it all and its a definite keeper. When it does make its way into stores, you'll be well advised to grab the fucker. The hottest tracks on it are (IMO) "Mr. Trials", with the beat produced by Trials and features a slamming drum beat over a hot as fuck horn loop. Cuts as always are handled by DJ Reflux. Trials drops some hot battle verses and the whole track just fits.
The other stand out track on this one is "Mercy Killings" ft. Robby Balboa. For this one they have used the Cage - Radiohead beat (One of the best beats Necro ever produced for my money). This track is *apparently* going to appear on the new Funkoars album, remixed - which will be something to check out. But for now, the Radiohead beat is perfect. All 3 Mc's drop good verses, but the absolute standout on this track is Sesta - who kicks probably the best verse i've ever heard from him, his flow is outstanding and it will have you hitting rewind more than once. Robby Balboa from QLD drops a good verse at the end, with a couple of witty lines that will have you smiling.

Lyrical Commission - Murderous Metaphors
I haven't heard any of this yet, but i doubt that it will dissapoint. For those who dont know, Lyrical Commission put out their debut release a year or 2 ago, and it was pretty bloody good. The stage is set had some banging tracks on it, and we can only assume the trend will continue. Like I said - i haven't heard it yet, so no reviews or nothing - but it should be worth a look if your into the darker, moody melbourne shit like I am. There is a Real audio stream of one of the tracks on http://www.checkoutwax.com if you want to check it. I refuse to install realplayer on my computer, so i haven't listened to it yet.

Clandestein - Dynasty (2LP)
Dynasty has been out for ages now on CD, and in my opinion - its one of the best releases this country has ever produced. Definitely my favourite thing to come out of Western Australia. Its dark as fuck and has some fuckin awesome tracks on it. The combination of Mortar's heavy hitting production with the dark venom that comes from all the MC's will get you going like watching a metro cunt touch your woman. Standout tracks are A new hope, L.I.G.T, Off Guard, My enemy and I, The bloodening, Spell on U and Near Death. So why am i getting all excited about this now, 2 years after it was released? Cause it is FINALLY coming out on vinyl. Due to all the unfortunate delays that come with australia's only vinyl press going under, it has taken a stupid amount of time for this one to appear on wax. But finally, it is here. Look out for it in stores soon.

After Hours - A Hero's Turf (2LP)
Another one thats been delayed due to problems with vinyl. I'm not going to review it for obvious reasons (ie. I'm in After Hours), but for those interested we should hopefully fucking finally maybe possibly be seeing this out on wax soon. We got the test pressing back ages ago, but there has been a couple little things crop up that have kept it from going to press. We think we have everything sorted out now (we hope) and it should be out in the next month or 2. I was pretty disappointed about how it came out sounding on CD, but on vinyl it seems to have really found its format - the sound is finally the way we intended it to be - lots of low end meat and mid range warmth. Gotta love that flat black plastique explosive. I just hope that the actual press sounds as good as the test pressing does.

Delta - Lostralian
I have so few details on this one, i was barely even going to include it. But i have to, even if its just to make you aware that it is in the works. Featuring production by Mark B (of Mark B and Blade fame) and Delta - it should be hot. Release is slated for December this year, with a single popping up a month prior to it coming out.

Nuffsaid - In case you didn't know
Another Nuffsaid gem. Cant wait for this one, should be out early July.
Here are the details, pretty self explanatory.

And i also want to mention that i have been priviledged enough to hear some new shit from Terra Firma, Cross Bred Mongrels and Damo (you might know him from the SA Battle Scene). All of it is sounding good. In particular i want to point out how good Damo's tracks are sounding. He has been recording with Simplex from Terra Firma, and has been lucky enough to rock over his beats - and fuck, its sounding good. Real hot battle tracks, I'm told its going to be coming out as an EP at some point - i can only hope its soon.

Peace
Headlock.

Filmclip: Master Ace - Me And The Biz

Well it's the weekend so it's time for another thick update. Check Ace with his Biz Markie puppet in this filmclip for one of my favorite Ace tracks. I had to clear all the files that were on the archive pages to make some room. So if you looking for something that was up here earlier just hit the forum.

Common Live On Leno

Although I am not really a fan of Commons new album I think 'The Corner' goes down as one of the songs of the year so far. I came across this live set from the Jay Leno show and as I am not selfish by nature I thought I should really share.
